Overview

Want your kick to hit harder, your snare to have more snap, or your drum loops to feel tighter and more energetic? Striker gives you direct control over the attack and sustain of your sounds, making it easy to bring out more punch, definition, and character. Whether you're making subtle adjustments or going for a more aggressive sound, Striker helps you shape the way your tracks feel in the mix. Start with the Attack and Sustain controls to shape the character of your sound. Bring up the Attack to make drums hit harder, add more snap to a snare, or emphasize the pick attack of a guitar. Adjust Sustain to give sounds more body and length, or pull it back for tighter, more focused hits. It's a simple way to make noticeable changes without having to dial in a traditional compressor. Striker also gives you a few extra tools to take things further. The Punch control adds energy and density, while the built-in Clipper lets you tame peaks and push your sound a little harder. Choose between Tight, Punch, and Smooth processing modes to find the response that works best for your track. You can also adjust the Focus to make Striker respond more to low-frequency impact, high-frequency attack, or the full signal. There's plenty of flexibility in how you use it. Add some extra weight and impact to a kick, make a snare crack a little harder, tighten up a drum loop, or bring more definition to bass and guitar tracks. The Mix control makes it easy to blend the processing with your original sound, so you can add just a little extra punch or go all-in when you want something more dramatic. Whether you're producing electronic music, mixing live drums, or looking to bring more energy to individual tracks, Striker gives you a straightforward way to shape transients and add impact. Available as a VST3 transient shaper plugin for Windows and in VST3 and AU formats for macOS.

Controls

9 controls

Brings the front edge of a sound forward or pulls it back. Turn it up when a kick, snare, guitar, or loop needs more hit, more crack, or more urgency. Turn it down when the transient is too sharp, too pokey, or taking up more space than it should.

Shapes the body and tail that come after the initial hit. Raise it when a sound feels too short, too dry, or needs more weight and hold. Pull it back when the source is too washy, too ringy, or leaving behind more decay than the mix can handle.

Controls how readily Striker reacts to transients. Higher settings make the shaping more responsive and more assertive, which is useful when you want the processor to grab harder and do more obvious work. Lower settings keep things calmer and more restrained.

Adds extra edge, density, and forward energy to the transient shaping. This is the control to reach for when a sound needs more attitude, more knock, or a stronger sense of impact beyond simple attack adjustment.

Lets you shave and control peaks as part of the shaping process. This can help sounds feel denser, more contained, and more forceful, especially when you want added aggression without relying on a separate clipping stage later.

Blends the processed signal with the original. Lower settings are great when you want to keep the source natural and just add a little more control or impact. Higher settings let Striker take over more of the shaping when the sound needs a bigger move.

Sets the final output level after processing. Use it to level-match your settings so you can judge the change by feel, punch, and control rather than loudness alone.

Chooses what part of the sound Striker pays the most attention to when detecting transients. Low is useful when you want to work the punch and movement of the low end more directly, like kicks, toms, or bass-heavy material. Full gives you a broader response across the whole signal and is the most general-purpose setting. High leans more toward upper attack and snap, which is helpful for snares, pick attack, loops, and sources where the front edge lives higher up.

Sets the overall shaping character. Tight gives a firmer, more controlled response that works well when you want cleaner transient control and less extra bloom. Punch leans more aggressive and energetic, making it a strong choice when you want hits to jump forward harder. Smooth is the softer, rounder option when you want to shape the envelope in a more natural, less assertive way.
